Halloween is the time of year when many predators are out hoping to catch their prey. Safety is the number one rule for all who participate on this night of fun.
Ensure the safety of children & adults
Always travel in pairs, never alone and if parents are letting their children trick or treat, accompany your children and use a flash light with new batteries that can be decorated for Halloween so you can see, if your children are going to a costume party, always know what costume your children are wearing and if wearing a mask, make sure it fits properly so it doesn’t block your eye sight.
Wear make-up that is non-toxic, try to get a bright costume that is flame resistant, that has a reflector or add reflector tape to the costume plus wear a costume that will fit, too long of a costume will drag the ground and cause a tripping hazard or injury if you fall.
When trick or treating keep to lit streets or sidewalks and only go to homes that have a porch light on. Never go into an alley.
Your teen may put up a fuss, but have an adult chaperon at every party. Kids, be sure to have your parents check all of your yummy loot before any of it is eaten.
Adults should have fun at adult parties, but never use drugs and never drive while under the influence of any substance , always have a back up driver or another source of transportation if you have to leave a party.
Remember to carry your cell phone and dial 911 if you need help.
Enjoy Halloween and let it be a rememberable holiday for both children and adults in a safe way.
